We watched the movie “Wall-E” yesterday.
Oh, such a great movie. Perfectly drawn, very interesting plot, extremely great-hearted, clear, funny, deep and insightful. We instantly fell in love with Wall-e. I definitely recommend taking the time and buying that movie theatre ticket.
Meanwhile, here’s something interesting I have found: here, here, here, here, here.

Driving home the other day, I heard an advertisement on the radio, that said “Tired of taking a square root of an isosceles triangle?”
Are we diseased? Is it this hard to look up and say at least something that has meaning?..
Well, that said, the new movie, titled 21, has also quite irritated my already twisted convolutions of the brain. I first saw the trailer sitting in a movie theatre, which started by showing a young man, who is extremely good with simple arithmetics. And I thought “Oh, nice, good fella”. But then the voice over frame said that this young man “was the brightest and most successful mathematics student at [some] university”…
And not that that can’t be true (it of course can… it’s a movie anyway…), but the idea that “the greatest mathematician” is always associated with “he who counts fastest” just bugs bujizas out of me.
I know many very clever people who are not generally fluent with numbers. In fact, doctor Bar-Natan (~) is surely one of the most clever and bright people I know; he has “no experience in computation whatsoever”…
So… ?

My fiancee and I watched the movie Vantage Point today. We did not realise it at first, but apparently today was the opening night for this movie: it is the first time we watch a movie on its opening night!
[No spoiler in this paragraph] At first I was a bit skeptical — I mean the story of killing (or doing something with) the president of the United States has long been the diamond of Hollywood’s dreams. But once the movie began, I quickly changed my mind. The movie is very interesting, contains much action, much thrill, much entanglement and ends on a profound note. I recommend watching it and give it a 9 out of 10. I also recommend taking a look at the official web site of the movie, as it is truly very interesting!
[Here comes the spoiler] I really enjoyed the fact that the movie developed in certain stages and not all at once. If it was to be all at the same time, it would be a complete mess of information. However, the way that the movie is structured, it always keeps you guessing until the last moment. One thing I would remark as being unrealistic is for those American agents running along the streets and shooting at random. Also, I think the agent that was on the terrorist side is a lot more of a professional to recognise the fact that cameras are all over the square and that the main character may in fact visit the TV booth. Other than these remarks, I think the movie deserves even more than just a 9 out of 10. The end is quite profound as well, in that the terrorist is very tart, but even he could not put his hand upon something so pure and innocent as a child.
